Applications Open: 1 June - 31 July 2026

Applications are now open for the next intake of the Soundskool Music Scholarship Program 2026, with programs starting on 24 August 2026.

Operated by Soundskool Music Co., Ltd., the program supports young Khmer musicians through structured music education, mentorship, examinations, and performance opportunities.

After the successful launch of the program earlier this year, Soundskool is opening a second intake to support the next group of scholars and continue strengthening Cambodia's growing music community.

For this intake, up to six private scholarships will be awarded through a competitive application and audition process. Applications are reviewed based on passion, commitment, musical potential, and readiness to take part properly in the program.


Benefits Received

Selected scholars will receive support through either a Full Scholar ($700) or Half Scholar ($350) placement.

  • Tuition support for weekly private lessons in classical piano, violin, drums, or pop vocals, and/or group lessons
  • Learning materials and educational resources
  • RSL-certified graded examinations, with full coverage for Full Scholars and partial coverage for Half Scholars
  • Performance opportunities, recitals, and teacher progress reports

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 7-29
  • Hold Khmer nationality
  • Commit 4-5 hours per week to lessons, practice, and program activities
  • Be willing to participate in performances, recitals, or competitions

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit:

  • Copy of the applicant's birth certificate or ID as proof of age and nationality
  • One recent passport-size photo of the applicant
  • Music certificates or recommendation letters, if available
  • A short video performance of the applicant's chosen piece

After submission, applicants will receive follow-up communication from the Soundskool team, including reminders to continue preparing performance pieces and audition materials.


Application & Selection Process

Application Submission

Applicants must complete the official application form and upload all required materials before the closing date.

Review & Shortlisting

Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. Shortlisted applicants will be notified on 5 August 2026.

Auditions & Interviews

Shortlisted applicants will take part in:

  • An interview discussing motivation, passion, and commitment to music
  • A musicianship assessment for intermediate and advanced applicants
  • A performance test with one free-choice piece and one assigned piece from the official repertoire list

Program Start

Selected scholars will complete enrollment and onboarding before lessons officially begin on 24 August 2026.
